Our Community Campus Program is composed of two Grosse Pointe Public School classrooms serving young adults with special needs.  The students attend classes during normal school hours with their days divided among improving basic academic skills, learning and practicing daily living skills, participating in Transition to Adulthood lessons, investigating potential leisure and recreational activities, and learning skills necessary for future employment.  Community Based Instruction is part of the program where students take skills and lessons learned into the community and use them in real-life settings.  Community Campus students are also placed in businesses and work-based learning sites throughout the community.   Micro-businesses, such as retail sales, internet sales, and commercial laundry services, are developed on-site around our students’ interests and strengths. We are always seeking partnerships within our local business community to provide work training and job opportunities for our students.
