The Edible Garden

The recent recipient of the Michigan Garden Clubs of America, the Full Circle Edible garden is located on a three-acre site generously provided by the Riverview Rehabilitation Center in Detroit. Full Circle young adults manage more than 55 raised vegetable, herb and flower garden beds. They learn about gardening techniques, producing and selling fresh food.

The recent recipient of the Michigan Garden Clubs of America, the Full Circle Edible garden is located on a three-acre site generously provided by the Riverview Rehabilitation Center in Detroit. Full Circle young adults manage more than 55 raised vegetable, herb and flower garden beds. They learn about gardening techniques, producing and selling fresh food.
The Edible Garden season begins in April with preparing the garden beds for planting. Planting Day in May is a Full Circle tradition where parents, staff, young adults and friends come together to plant. As the growing season continues, vegetables, herbs and flowers are harvested and donated to other area non-profits or sold through subscription sales.By the end of October, the garden is prepared for the winter season of rest.
Through generous donations we are able to pay our garden interns throughout the growing season, as they work to maintain the garden daily. They harvest, prepare garden subscriptions for delivery, and sell at local Farmers Markets. We would like to thank our many community donors who have been an important part of developing and maintaining this wonderful space where our interns can learn, and flourish.
